Balto
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Angelle did because she was tired of her father not taking care of them. If her father was responsible he would not have let her drive. I don’t think Angelle liked to lie to cover up her father. That is why she told the truth. If she did not tell the truth her father might have done another bad thing.
I would be able to do what Angelle did because if my parents were not following the law, and telling me to drive I do not think that is what a good parent does. I would feel guilty not telling the truth and lying.
The ending of balto was shocking because everyone thought that Angelle would lie and say that her father was the one driving so he would only be accused for one count of a DUI. Now instead he has 2 charges and lost his kids from the second charge of child endangerment. I would not be able to put my parents through this but then again my parents would never let this happen to themselves. So I do agree with what Angelle did and I feel like it was all for the better and not the worse
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Angelle did because her father was irresponsible and not following the law. He was drinking while driving and putting his kids in danger by making a kid drive. She told the truth because she knew it was the right thing to do. She could have also did it to get back at Mr. Appadoca for treating her like a kid and telling her that her mother would never come back for her and her sister. If my parents were to do that then i would tell the truth for putting me in that situation and getting drunk. i could never live with telling a lie to the court to make sure my parent would not get 2 charges.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angelle. I think she did the right think by telling the court the truth. He made is daughter drive a car that put her and her sister in trouble.Even though I agree with Angelle i would not be able to do that to my parents. It would just make life difficult .Instead of putting them in jail I would try to help them some other way.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Angelle did because in the story it is explained that this may not have been the first time that her father has done something like this. No matter how much she loved her father he has put her in danger maybe even more than once and this may have been the best thing for everybody. Whether or not she did this because she was angry at him I think that Angelle did the right thing by telling the truth.
ReplyDeleteAlthough Angelle seemed to do the right thing, it could also be viewed as kind of harsh on her father. I mean she really did tell the truth to spite the Lawyer Mr. Apodaco and her father. But all in all, it was a tough decision with no real perfect ending
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angelle because her dad was not fit to be taking care of these kids so being with her mom or foster care would have been better.
ReplyDeleteI think if i was put in this position i would do what Angelle did because clearly my parents would not be responsible enough to take care of me.
I do agree with Angelle because her dad had a real problem and if she did not do this there might have been worse outcomes. Saying that, I would never be able to do that to one of my parents because that would put my family in turmoil and could have more cons than pros.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do agree with what Angelle did because her dad treated her unfairly and needed help. She needed to tell the truth for his and her own good. He put her in danger and if she had lied, she could've ended up dead in the future. If I were in this position, I believe I would tell the truth because I wouldn't want to go through anymore pain, and I would want my parent to get the help they need to come back be good to me and themselves.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Angelle did because her father put her and her little sister in danger by drinking a lot and than making a 12 year old drive home. I would have done the same thing that Angelle did because her father should now learn his lesson and he obviously can't raise two little girls if her has a drinking problem. And they are probably better off with someone else raising them.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of Balto I was surprised because I thought she was going to say that her father was driving so that he would only face one charge. Now he faces two charges: a DUI and child endangerment. I do agree with what Angelle did because she was trying to get her and her sister out of an unsafe environment. I would not be able to do that to my parents, but I would never have to.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Angelle said about her father but at the same time I disagree. I think that it was the truthful thing to do and I think that her father put her in an uncomfortable situation by making her drive home. She was afraid and probably traumatized for life. I also think that she should have kept quiet about it because now she will be taken away from her father and she and her sister will grow up with their father. What Angelle did was morally right but I don't think it was the right thing to.
ReplyDeleteI believe that from the view of an outsider Angelle did the right thing to get her father straight, but if you were to be one of his children you would say it is was a bad thing to do because you would not want to put your parents through all the stuff that they would have to face. If i came upon this situation i would tell the truth because it would be for the greater good of my parent.
ReplyDeleteTo add on to what I said before...... I could not have done the same thing that Angelle did because I care about my parents way too much and I wouldn't have been as immature and angry and she was. My parents would also never do what Angelle's father did. They're more responsible.
ReplyDeleteI think that Angelle made the right decision. She probably wanted to save herself and her sister from any future child endangerment. I think she had come to a realization that what her father was doing to her and her sister wasn't acceptable and that she had to put herself in a better family situation. My father was an alcoholic so I can relate to this story. But he would probably never do what Angelles father did. I would probably strech the truth a little because i love my parents, but I would be to weak to flat out lie.

ReplyDeleteI think Angelle's actions were right. She knew what was better for her, and that was to stay away from her father. She was better off without him because he was irresponsible and an awful role model. She also wanted to stand up the lawyer in the situation. She was not going to be told to do, and certainly was not going to lie to the court. I would've done the same in this situation. IT's what's better for everyone. Alos, she avoided lying to the court.

ReplyDeleteI do agree with what Angelle did. She did what was right, he needed to be taught a lesson and face the consequences. I would do that to my parents/guardian if it were the same cercumstances. I would want the best for my parents and would do what was right.

ReplyDeleteIn the end of the short story Angelle told the court she had been driving, which got her father in trouble. I agree with what Angelle did because what happened would be bound to happen again. I would be able to do this to my parents because i would not want to be living with someone who could endanger my life and interfere with my future.

ReplyDeleteI do agree with Angelles decision to tell the truth. No i could not do the same to my parents because my dad/mom wouldnt go out with someone else, get drunk and then tell me to drive.

ReplyDeleteI do not agree with what Angelle did to her father. I do not agree with her because what she did to her father was unnecessary and when her mother came back her mother and her father could have worked things out and she could have convinced her father to stop drinking. The reason she could have made him stop is because she could have brought up this situation every time her father started to drink and made him stop. But she decides to ship her father off to some jail so she doesn’t have to deal with him and I could never do the same to any of my parents.

ReplyDeleteI would have done what Angelle did if I was treated like that and because it's ethnically correct. I dont know what I would do if this was my own parent because I've never been put in this kind of situation before.
I think Angelle did the right thing by telling the truth because if she didn't her father would continue to drink and might have gotten her into more trouble as she got older. Because she told the truth she stopped her father from keeping her mother away for a longer amount of time. I would tell the truth if this happened to me because the reason i would have to tell the truth is because they put myself and others in danger.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised about what Angelle said. I agree with what she did. She was embarrassed and her father put her through this. I “could” do the same to my parents but it would depend on what they have done and how it affects others.
ReplyDeletei agree with the actions that Angelle did in the court room. She swore to the judge that she wont lie when she speaks and that she will tell the truth. It is better to tell the truth rather than lie and get caught later. That would end up being worse for you because now the judge questions all of your actions that you have made in the past. i know that saying the truth was hard because her father would get more punishment for what he did, but if she lied then it wold have haunted her for the rest of her life and alter her judgment. So I think that Angelle did the right thing.
