ReplyDeleteRom. What? A light from a window? I shall move closer to see what it is. Oh! It is Juliet who is as bright and beautiful as the sun and stars themselves.
Jul. *sigh*
Rom. Oh she speaks! Speak again so that I may here your voice.
Jul. I wish my Romeo were here. I miss him with all my heart.
Rom. Should I tell her of my presence? Or continue to listen?
Jul. I wish I wasn’t a capulet. That way Romeo and I could be together.
Rom. (showing himself) But we can be!
Jul. (startled) What are you doing here? You cant be here! If anyone finds you here, they’ll kill you!
Rom. Its worth it! Plus I have the dark of night to hide me.
Jul. Oh Romeo! I cannot be seen with you because you are a Montague!
Rom. I would change my name for you
Jul. How did you get over the fence?
Rom. I climbed. What else would I do?
Jul. Oh. Well then it’s a good thing its nighttime so you cannot see me blushing. Did you hear anything I said?
Rom. Every word.
Jul. oh my. This is all happening so fast. I must go. Goodnight!
Rom. Wait! You would leave me with nothing?
Jul. What more could you want from me?
Rom. Say that you love me, as I did.
Jul. Oh of course I love you!
(Nurse calls from the house) Nurse.Juliet!
Jul. I’m coming! Romeo, if you love me, come to me tomorrow with a marriage proposal. Set up the marriage, then come to me. I will send someone tomorrow to see if your ready.
Rom. I will. (Juliet leaves but comes back quickly)
Jul. Wait! What time should I send for you tomorrow?
Rom. Sometime after nine.
Jul. ok I will. Goodbye!
Rom. Goodbye!
